1.To review oil leak response procedure based on related regulations, including: a.the assessment of the oil companies’ procedures and implementation of Tier 1 drills; b.developing clear procedures of being the coordinator of Tier 1; and c.campaigning the hotline number to the companies and community in the Balikpapan Bay region.

    1. a. Based on Ministerial Regulation no. 58 of 2013, Oil Companies already have Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and requirements for pollution prevention which include:- Procedures, Personnels and Equipments.Regarding the assessment, we attached the Letter of Approval of Fulfillment of Pollution Prevention Requirements Number: 05 / XI / PMN / DN-20. The letter was issued in Jakarta on November 10, 2020 on behalf of the Director General of Sea Transportation, Director of the Sea and Coast Guard.b. KSOP Balikpapan have made Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as Mission Commander (MC) and On Scene Commander (OSC). KSOP Balikpapan already socialized and carry out Exercise to the Oil Companies as attached.c. KSOP Balikpapan has sent Letters to TERSUS Pertamina regarding the procedures for dealing with oil spills in Balikpapan and has informing hotline number that can be contacted.
