Komala Indonesia included procedure for familiarization area, route and airport/heliport in the Operation Manual. The procedure requires pilot to obtain adequate knowledge of the route to be flown, which included information of the terrain and minimum safe altitude. In addition, pilot would have indoctrination training which covered the familiarization of the area, route and airport to be flown. The implementation of the procedure indicated that the familiarization has been conducted.
